Hi - I'M selena. Thirty years in fashion. One focus: turning creative vision into market-rEADY brands

I partner with emerging fashion designers, startup entrepreneurs and educators, combining strategy, storytelling and industry experience to launch brands and learning programs that truly make impact.

From shop floor to strategy, to the classroom and beyond. My career started with what you'd expect: visual merchandising, team training and in-store planning. I worked my way through roles in fashion marketing and retail merchandising leadership gaining firsthand insight into what makes customers stop, purchase and advocate.

Fourteen-plus years later, I pivoted into the world of fashion education - shaping curriculum, leading workshops, and teaching the next generation at Blanche Macdonald Centre. At the same time, I started consulting, helping brands define their stories, assets and growth plans.

Today after nearly thirty years in fashion, I bring all if it together under Van Fashion Marketing (VFMRK) - where strategy meets creativity, business meets design, and learners become launch-ready professionals.

Why VFMRK Exists? Emerging designers excel at concept but stall at launch. Educators often teach theory but lack industry-practical connections. VFMRK exists to close that gap - to turn creative promise into commercial success, and learning real-world impact. I believe in creating frameworks, assets, and strategies that work in the market, not just on paper.

SELENA

Based in Vancouver, BC , Selena brings a highly trained aesthetic eye and an extensive fashion marketing background to designers.

30 years of professional experience in fashion marketing, visual merchandising, and brick & mortar retail strategy.
Diploma in Fashion (Marketing) Merchandising, Provincial Instructor (PIDP) - Adult Education and currently completing a professional development Bachelor of Arts degree in Adult Education (BA AE) to deepen my learner-centered teaching credentials.
Creator and facilitator of the Fashion Brand Building (FBB): Student x Designer Residency, an immersive experiential learning program connecting fashion marketing course students at Blanche Macdonald Centre with industry - launch opportunities.
Nominated for Industry Originator - Teacher by Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW), recognizing my work in bridging the gap between education and industry.
